Johannesburg to Cape Town – Prince Albert
This characterful Karoo town is a little further off the track than the other towns I visited (45km from the Prince Albert Road turnoff), but I just love this little place and I will recommend it to anyone. Just like Parys, you’ll find many antique stores, but the feel of the town is very different. The people here are incredibly friendly and you’ll see them greet each other by name as they walk along the broad main road.
The Prince Albert Country Store is the perfect place for great coffee (they ground the coffee beans for every single cup) and antique shopping while the old cinema along the main road is an absolutely beautiful sight. It’s the perfect example of an Art Deco building.
