It’s no surprise that I love keeping up to date on all the latest technology and innovation out there – being a tech-head myself. So for the month of June – I have dug up some of the most interesting tech news that I think is pretty awesome and that may very well find you drooling all over your keyboard. Take a peek; be bowled over by what’s out there today, and what’s on the cards for the future.
Apple Music streaming music service
Great news Apple lovers, the company has teamed up with rap superstars Drake and Pharrell (cause they’re cool like that) to launch their own music streaming service – Apple Music – which includes a service to connect artists, fans and an online global radio station called Beats 1. Why is this good news? Apple Music is going to be like the Seven-11 of the music world, open all day and night, an “all-you-can-eat” service which is easy to use. It’s also really nifty because you have unlimited storage when streaming, and it is more affordable in the long run, as you won’t waste crazy cash downloading tracks. I can’t wait to check it out when it’s available in SA!
Chromebit
Check this out – an HDMI dongle that runs Google’s OS when it’s plugged into a device is now available. It’s called Chromebit and it will change the way you think about a PC. Small, smart and portable – not to mention this cute gadget comes in my favourite colour – orange off course. The Chromebit is a full computer that plugs right into your TV – now that’s pimp don’t you think?
The future of wireless charging
Ever had a meltdown trying to untangle your charger and thought your life would be easier if your electronics could be charged wirelessly? Well then you are in luck! Wireless technology is here and it’s taking the electronics world by storm. Basically wireless chargers use magnetic induction and by placing a device on a surface, it charges automatically — no fiddling with cables required. Check out this YouTube video for a ‘dummy’s’ guide to how it works. I am all for this kind of wireless innovation – cables are so outdated! Luckily you’re one step ahead – you already have Beame installed in your vehicle, so you know all about the benefits of wireless technology!
Speaking about innovative technology, remember to visit www.beame.co.za to find out how to sign up for services like Beame Protect, which alerts you the moment you get any new traffic fines – plus it makes is really easy to pay these – and why should you care? Well if you pay a fine early, you get a cheaper rate – which means more money for you.
‘Till next time, peeps!
