Starting to wonder where those April holidays went? Yeah, me too! They snuck in and before we knew it, snuck out again. Now, with our ears pinned back and heads down, we continue onto June 16th. Okay, I admit, it’s another 4 full weeks away, but all is not lost. Here’s a fun fact for you: thanks to one of my heroes, Mr. Henry Ford, Saturdays and Sundays don’t have to be spent at work.
While two days isn’t really enough time off to jet over the ocean or charter a course across the seven seas, it’s just the right amount of time to start your ignition, hit the road and experience something new and totally awesome. Right now you may be wondering what that new and awesome thing is. Well, do I have a treat for you!
South Africans are known for their love of food, good company and a cold South African brew or vine (or a mixture of both when grain and grape unite – but that’s a convo for another day). I’m not talking about your average starter, main and dessert, I’m talking about the adventure and really rad vibes that only South African markets can provide. So jump in your car and check out these awesome spots:
Jozi:
Market on Main | Jozi Food | Neighbourgoods
Cape Town:
Neighbourgoods | Schoolyard Market | Root44
Durban:
iheartmarket | Shongweni Farmers’ and Craft Market | The Umhlanga Farmers’ Market
Pretoria:
Irene Village Market
And of course you know that while you’re feasting your eyes on all the good grub, I’ll be loving your wheels, because there’s nothing more delicious to me than the sight of your ride. And speaking of yummy rides, if you didn’t catch all of my awesome Facebook posts, you may not be in the know about these hot and happening food trucks around the country. Oh my word, food in cars! Could life get any better?
