How To Keep The Kids Entertained in the Car
Road trips are a blast. Until the kids start getting a little antsy. If you’ve ever been in the car with eager little explorers asking, “Are we there yet?” every five minutes, then you get it.

1 – The Alphabet Hunt
This game is great for getting your kids to engage with the outside environment while expanding their knowledge.
The goal? Find words and things outside the car that start with each letter of the alphabet, in order, from A to Z. Billboards, road signs, animals, and shop names are all fair game! The first player to reach “Z” wins.
2 – Would You Rather?
Here’s one to get your kiddos giggling. One player asks a “Would you rather” question, and the rest of the car has to pick their answer.
Here is an example: Would you rather have a pet dinosaur or a pet dragon? The sillier the questions, the funnier the game.
3 – Road Trip Bingo
Next in our road trip games is one that is really good for memory, being engaged with your surroundings, and for a good laugh as a result of happy accidents.
Create simple bingo cards with pictures of things you’re likely to see along the way. Things like a red car, a cow, a stop sign, a motorbike, or the ocean. Every time someone spots an item they mark it off. The first to get five in a row shouts “Bingo!” and gets to choose one small fun thing to do at your destination.
4 – Name That Tune
One player hums or plays a few seconds of a song, and the rest of the car guesses the tune. Once it is identified you play that song. The first person to guess correctly gets to pick the next song!
5 – Story Builder
One person starts with a sentence like, “Once upon a time, a dragon lived in a castle.” The next player adds to it, and so on, until you have a hilarious and unpredictable adventure unfolding.
This one is really fun because it plays into everyone in the car’s personality.
